Equal Echo, the new project of producer / DJ Hector Plimmer and singer-songwriter / instrumentalist Alexa Harley, release their debut EP with the arrival of ‘Dynamite’.

Already acclaimed in their own right with their personal projects, the electronic soul tinged 4-track EP reveals the multi-facetted duo in perfect union that initially brought about the birth of Equal Echo.
Dynamite hints at the past work of both artists whilst retaining an altogether fresh and unique outlook.

Taking Hector's flair with synthesizers and rich instrumentation, combined with Alexa's experimental take on chord progressions and her soulful, composed vocal delivery, together they share a love for jazz, soul, house and pop soundscapes, to create an impressive, expansive and emotive sound.

Alexa details the track ‘Dynamite’: “We were in the studio when I started playing around with some guitar chords which we put through a delay and then Hector added this lovely percussion. The melody and lyrics were written quite quickly at the same time thanks to a tumultuous relationship that was re-ignited when it shouldn’t have been. It’s a sort of love letter in a backwards kind of way”.

"Black and Blue was written out of necessity and it's conception was an incredibly lethargic process - It expresses the emotions one goes through when experiencing a deep regret, but also addresses a universal human need of wanting to be loved and accepted for who we are"

For the last two years, Harley & Hector have been meeting two days a week, almost every week, creating music that shares an equal input of musical ideas from one another. The amalgamation of styles & musical backgrounds blend together to make a sound unlike either Harley or Hector produce alone, whilst still retaining the best attributes from both. Not only are they musical partners, they are also best friends.
